Moody Monsters

If your emotions were monsters, what would they look like? During a co-creation workshop, young participants aged 12-14 made and 3D-scanned their own characters, each exploring and expressing different feelings through colour, texture, and form. Both the monsters and the world in which they inhabit are almost entirely made out of PlayDoh—brought to life through photogrammetry and rendered at larger-than life scale.

Shaped by the imagination of children and young people, the artwork explores how we might understand, personify, and express complex emotions. Moody Monsters takes the audience on an immersive journey through a surreal landscape to meet these monsters in a dreamlike environment, and invites one to see the world from the mind of a child.
